Crochet Pineapple Kaftan Dress

This dress is a concept style dress. I made it in black, but it can be made in white, or another color of your choice. It's a concept because the pattern is originally made from a blanket pattern, then tweaked to make into a dress. I love the way it turned out, and I want to offer it as a custom option for you.

This dress is made in the kaftan style. What's a kaftan dress? A kaftan is a loose and long-flowing garment, often with long, wide sleeves. It has been around since about the 12th century, being worn by egyptions.

The dress is made using the pineapple lace pattern. This pattern is gorgeous and adds elegance to the dress. The pineapple lace became popular in the 1920's and 1930's. A fascination with Hawaii made pineapples popular again in the 50s and 60s.

This dress is made for a size XS/S. This dress is available to make custom in any size you want.

The dress in the picture measures 37” long and 20” from side to side. It’s sewn to fit the widest part of your body snugly. 
 

This dress is made with 100% acrylic yarn. 

I can make this dress in white upon request.
